About Our Company

Jerry Hays purchased an existing Kwik Kopy Printing center in the 1960 area of North Houston in 1994.  After an 18 year career in the oil and petrochemical business, he decided to launch a business of his own, and saw the printing franchise as an excellent opportunity to use his business background to start his own business.  Sales averaged around $20,000 per month the first few years, growing to over $400,000 annually in 1998.  David Vaughan, an independent printer in North Houston, became Jerry’s partner in 1999.  David has worked in the printing industry since he was 18 years old.  He ran his own printing business for 10 years prior to joining forces with Jerry.  In 2002, the business was relocated to a new 6,000 square foot facility on Stuebner Airline Road in Spring, Texas.  The state of the art facility, sitting on nearly two acres, provided room for growth in the future.  Besides moving into the new building, the business changed names, becoming one of the first Kwik Kopy Business Centers in the nation.  The new concept offered printing and copying, as well as a pack and ship service, all under one roof.

Inovative Ideas

Kwik Kopy Business Centers are part of the International Center for Entrepreneurial Development (ICED) family of franchises, whose world headquarters are a short drive away in Cypress, Texas.  Jerry and David take active roles in working with their franchisor, participating in educational workshops, contributing as panelists and instructors during seminars, and acting as a test site for new products and services.  They have worked in a mentoring program with higher volume print centers to grow their sales, and have mentored many new and struggling centers themselves.  They often host new center owners and international guests visiting the international ICED offices in Cypress, Texas.  The center is often used by the corporate office to test new equipment, software, and marketing ideas beforebeing released to all franchise centers.
